What you think and what you feel and what actually manifests is ALWAYS a match – no exception
The Secret
Our Thoughts Matter
This video was produced by the people who created the book and movie, “The Secret.” It has been awhile since “The Secret” brought the idea out of the closet that our thoughts matter. They said that they got their information from ancient sources, and they are correct.
The ancient masters did teach that one must always watch their mind. The ancient Egyptian teacher Thoth (Greek Hermes) said “All is Mind.” Simple words, but when you realize their importance, you start to examine your thoughts and beliefs (which are simply collections of thoughts) with care. When someone became a master of watching their mind, they were called a watcher. Their minds were said to be virgin, and nothing was beyond their power.
Thoughts of the True Self
The words that flash on the screen as the above video plays are all words that would naturally come from our True Self. The movie teaches us to say these things as affirmations or corrections to our mind. But that is what I call putting ice cream on top of manure. The manure doesn’t go away; it is simply covered up.
The failing of “The Secret” teachings came from the fact that they didn’t teach people how to let go. They just put more thoughts in people’s minds as if the new thoughts would dilute the old ones. But the old thoughts go unconscious, and eventually they always manifest. When they do, people lose faith in their ability to control their mind, and they fall even deeper into the illusion.
The ancient masters taught that we must let go of what mutes the True Self’s voice so that all that remains is true. Only letting go frees us from a world of false beliefs. You don’t have to put true thoughts in your mind because you were made in the image and likeness of God or truth. When you let go, you return to your True Self, and you are free.
Recognizing the Truth
The truth always feels good. The truth is always win-win for everyone. The truth is empowering, unconditionally loving, and harmonious.
Thoughts of war, disease, or problems are simply not true. They always come with emotion attached; and that emotion is saying, “Don’t believe this thought.” Sadly, most of us were brainwashed to believe thoughts that feel bad, and then we create what we believe. Breaking that habit is a challenge. But it is worth the effort.
I Am Free to Be MySelf
I love this video. It reminds me of True Self’s words. It pushes me harder to let go so that I can listen to thoughts like these all day.
But this video also gave me a very special gift in the form of a personal message. As I watched it over and over many years ago, I noticed that I was unmoved by the people cliff jumping. I wasn’t touched by the woman hugging the guy, the nature scenes, or even the hummingbird. I felt the joy of the woman singing or the conductor leading his orchestra; but I was vicariously in their joy, not my own.
But then my piece of the video kicked in. I was enthralled by the girl with the piercings and the black hat. The words that flashed along with that image were, “I am free to be myself.” Everything that follows that image stirred my True Self as if it was speaking directly to me. It climaxed at the scene of the aborigines dancing, kicking up that beautiful red dirt; and the words that flashed on the screen were, “I am the perfection of life.”
Today when I watch the video after many years, the same piece still stirs my spirit. Our True Self is consistent. It still reminds me of my pure vision of life where I am truly free to be mySelf and so are you.
Clues Only Make Sense in Hindsight
At the time this video came out, I was spending fifteen or more hours each day studying ancient cultures and indigenous stories and beliefs. I was desperate to find the final ingredients of the philosopher’s stone. I noticed the feeling in my body while watching this video, but didn’t know how to read the subtle signals. I wasn’t completely sure of the difference between the feeling of grace, unconditional love, or truth that I feel when my True Self is validated and my false self’s emotions ranging from shame and fear to excitement. The video was speaking but I didn’t yet have the magic decoder. So often life is speaking; but we don’t understand its messages, signs, and symbols.
An Invitation
As I’ve mentored people, I’ve often shown this video and asked them what picture and message stirs their True Self. It is a different combination for everyone because what makes us unique is our reason for being. Knowing their True Self in this more personal way makes watching the movie that much sweeter for me. I get to think about each of them and their part in this giant earth screenplay.
Which image or combination of words resonate with your True Self? You’ll know it because it just feels good; it pulls you in deeper than the rest of the video. This video always seems to deliver. I invite you to find your message.
If you feel like it, add a comment and share your message with us. Then begin to allow that part of you to lead your life. Let go of the thoughts and beliefs that don’t resonate with that True Being; and one day you will say, “I’m finally free to be mySelf.”
Some people spend their life developing a unique personality when their True Self is already perfect and unique. Read about a study that proved that here.
