Getting Paid to Do What you Love

Money makes us crazy
Money doesn’t buy freedom; but freedom includes abundance.

Forget the Economy

It isn’t the economy that’s caused lack; it’s an old belief that resurfaced with the New Thought movement — a belief designed by those who wanted all the money and power for themselves.  It’s the belief that you shouldn’t charge for the truth.  It’s time to expose this lie.  Truth, freedom, and abundance come from the True Self; they belong together.

Don’t get me wrong.  I’ve written about giving freely in the story, “The Legend.”  But they also received in that story.  Everyone was on the same page.  Even if money exchanged hands in “The Legend,” it would be fair.  The illusion, however, was purposely designed to be unfair.

We must get our thinking right about abundance, freedom, and truth.  Hating or doing without money doesn’t fix a thing.

The Trap

When we think or hear, “You shouldn’t charge for the truth,” our false minds think, “If I’m being my True Self, I shouldn’t get paid.”  So when people start living from their True Self and doing what they love, the crabs in the pot start biting their asses trying to pull them back into the pot of hard work, doing stuff they hate, or selling falsehood.  But once you’ve had a glimpse of your True Self, you can’t do a job that supports the illusion.  You only want to do what you love; and you deserve to get rewarded for it.

All second-cause beliefs keep us in the illusory crab pot.  In the true world, the people who express themselves and support real freedom get all the money; no one would pay for lies or deception.  People who deceive or pull others into the illusion by imposing their beliefs or will on others would be the homeless ones; they’d be punished by their own false minds.

The belief that you can’t get paid for living your truth was designed to keep humans small and powerless working for THE MAN to keep his illusion well-oiled and running smoothly.  It’s been our reality because we believed THE MAN, but it wasn’t true.  Therefore, we can let it go.  Any wealth gained by illusory means is illusory wealth. If people stop giving it attention, it will disappear.

Our false minds spend way too much time looking at the lives of others and trying to figure them out.  Others are entertainment — that’s all.  We won’t discover how to be our True Self by watching or listening to others.  I’ve come to know a lot about the illusion but only by letting go of the illusory beliefs in me.  When we let go, others become transparent.  We see through their masks.

Pour your heart into something, anything really; and you’ll see your True Self reflected back.  You deserve to be well paid for that.  Keep your eye focused in your own lane; that’s how you get out of the crab pot.  When others pull you back in, don’t look back.  Keep pulling and kicking your way out.

Donations are Fees Too

We’re taught to believe that churches, gurus, and spiritual teachers aren’t charging for their work, so they’re spiritual.  Of course that’s bullshit; they’re just donation based.  Donations say, “Pay what you think this is worth or pay what you can.”  Outside the illusion, donation-based systems would work perfectly.  Those who express their True Self would get all the donations.  Most religious organizations, teachers, and gurus would be bankrupt.

Fees simply convey a different message.  A fee says, “This is what I want to receive in order for this to be win-win for me.  If it’s win-win for you, we’ve got a deal — a fair deal.”  It’s not unspiritual; it’s just honest.

Money has been hijacked by the illusion to draw us in.  I remember thinking,  I can write something like “50 Shades of Grey,” or I can write the truth.  I was trained to believe that “50 Shades” would bring abundance and the other nothing.  I spent thousands of hours letting go on that topic — so many beliefs.

Martyrs

The do-it-for-free notion or some ridiculous unequal barter contributes to martyrdom.  When you devalue your True Self to match other people’s beliefs, you aren’t operating from win-win.  When we purposely lose in order to appear spiritual, we aren’t being our True Self SO WE AREN’T BEING SPIRITUAL.

Imagine I’m a car sales rep.  You come in to pick up your new car, and I try to sell you another car.  You’d say I was a crook.  Likewise, if you already have the truth, which you do, and I now sell you a false belief system, am I good or spiritual?

Now, you see why they said, “You shouldn’t charge for the truth.”  They were saying, don’t sell people a car if they already bought one.  To tell people that they fell out of heaven so you can sell them a fake system to get back there is ridiculous.  This is level confusion at its best.

The world won’t change until we get brutally honest about abundance.   People have been taught not to trust or honor their own True Self. They live a life of obedience to people charging quite well for falsehood.

Many people know exactly what they want to do with their life, but they feel powerless to make money being their True Self.  That’s just a complex of beliefs; it makes no sense that those who live from the truth would be doing without.

Jesus said, “Let the dead bury the dead.”  He meant, let the people in the illusion handle the people in the illusion.  Be your True Self.

If you truly want to help others, expose the illusion when you can.  It takes courage.  False selves will tell you that you are unkind, unspiritual, and selfish.  Ignore them.  We’ll heal the world when it’s cool, right, and rewarding to be your True Self and when abundance flows to those who live from love, freedom, abundance, and truth.
